Think about a leader with whom you have worked in the past. With this person in mind, you will address four issues in this assignment:

• Discuss the characteristics of this leader.
• Choose 1 leadership style (autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire).
• Model and analyze your leader’s leadership style. Do they match? Why or why not?
• How does this leader help his or her followers achieve the organization’s goals?

Your post should be at least 300 words in length, and it must be researched using at least 2 sources, as per CTU policy. As a reminder, you will demonstrate this, of course, by providing citations and references for your sources (refer to the sample paper in the Instructor Files for assistance). Make sure you spell check and proof read. Provide two reply posts, each at least 100 words in length.

Read chapter 17 in the textbook to learn about leadership. The leadership styles by Lewin and others are found on page 462. Chapter 16 discusses motivating employees.

Phase 3 IP

Based on what you have learned about leadership, address the following three issues:

• Define and describe a motivation and goal theory that a manager could use to help inspire his or her employees to meet the objectives of your organization.
• Connect this theory to 1 action plan you would recommend from 1 of the 3 strategies you researched in P1IP.
• How does this theory help the company with its growth objectives?
